Osteopathy is a
unique system of diagnosis and treatment that deals with the
structural integrity of the body. Osteopathic practice is a way of
detecting and treating damaged parts of the body and therefore
alleviating the pain in tissues such as nerves, muscles, ligaments
and joints. When the body is in alignment it functions more
efficiently with the minimum of wear and tear, stress and energy.
This in turn reduces pain and disability. The job of the osteopath
is to restore a healthy balance within the body which in turn
improves the well-being of the patient.
Osteopaths are well know for treating pain in the back, however back
pain is only one of many symptoms an Osteopath can treat. The treatment received will be tailor made to the individual condition.
A variety of different techniques can be used depending upon what is best
for each patient. Treatment may include spinal manipulation, cranial
osteopathy, massage, mobilisation, dietary and nutritional advice,
postural advice, specific exercise and stretches. An information leaflet
for home use may also be given to assist a full recovery.
Back pain, neck pain
or any of the pains listed above can be treated at Highgrove Osteopath
Clinic in Weston-super-Mare. |
